JOB OVERVIEW:
The Turlock Plant is seeking an RTE Operator - Entry for swing shift.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
JOB SUMMARY
Develops the skill and ability required to operate critical manufacturing equipment that meets quality compliance with national food safety regulations. Under direct supervision, learns operational processes necessary to achieve production goals, targets, and opportunities for the entire production line. Upholds the core Blue Diamond Manufacturing tenants: Quality, Service, Performance and People. Learns, understands, and follows established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), policies and procedures, and safety procedures while performing all job duties. Adheres to all procedures and practices associated with Food Safety, Food Security and Food Quality.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Learns and understands the multifaceted processes to safely operate plant equipment.
  • Participate sin the setup, monitoring and operational adjustments to production equipment such as blanchers, slicers, dicers, and pasteurizers to ensure that quality and production score card targets are met.
  • Monitors of all Key Process Measures (KPM's) to deliver finished goods that meet all required quality attributes while meeting schedule targets as required by the production schedule.
  • Participates in daily pre-shift meetings.
  • Provides support to experienced operators and maintenance personnel in supporting preventative maintenance.
  • Collects, measures, graphs, and catalogs variances with waste, downtime and foreign material production and product information.
  • Performs various product sampling tests and enters data in computer.
  • Must understands Blue Diamond line certification, HACCP process and auditing, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and Safety Practices.
  • Performs general housekeeping and various sanitation functions.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum level of education required
  • High School Diploma or GED

Minimum number of year(s) of experience required in addition to education plus type(s) of functional experience
  • 3 years of production/ manufacturing experience.

Other required type(s) of functional experience (e.g. Production/Operations, Accounting, Forklift Operator, Inventory Control, etc.)
  • Knowledge of machine operations and mechanical aptitude to keep machinery and equipment operating optimally and effectively.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to work under limited supervision.
  • Receives guidelines from supervisor/lead operator but is expected to decide what actions to take when handling all but the most unusual task.
  • Must regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • Ability to efficiently operate equipment via Operator Interface Terminal.
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work schedules and performance graphs.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Work consists of a wide range of tasks requiring a high level of problem-solving skills that result in solutions from several alternatives.
  • Must be able to work overtime as necessary.
