Job description

The Project Manager for the Business Excellence Department is responsible for conducting, planning, and implementing technical projects for Alivia Health’s Specialty Pharmacy business . Works in close collaboration with the IT department to deliver solutions for internal clients. The Project Manager must have effective time management and coordination skills, with an advanced understanding of systems, computer networks and IT infrastructure. The role involves both technical and administrative responsibilities associated with the Technical Platforms supporting the Specialized Pharmacy Business and key stakeholders across Alivia Health organization.

In addition to Project Management, serves as the primary point of contact and “in-house” subject matter expert (SME) for patient platforms and related services implementations and upgrades. The Project Manager will support project-related technical needs by translating operational and business requirements into technical workstreams, coordinating with internal teams and vendors, and helping drive configuration, testing, issue resolution, and successful implementation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develops, maintains, and revises proposals for assigned projects including project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, timelines, funding, and staffing.
  • Sets and tracks project milestones; manages and accounts for unforeseen delays, then realigns schedules and expectations as needed.
  • Establishes and implements project communication plans, providing status updates to affected staff and stakeholders.
  • Collects, analyzes, and summarizes information and trends as needed to prepare project status reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members and management and explain technical issues.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to handle any issues that occur during project completion.
  • Organization and time management skills to keep projects on track and within budget.
  • Excellent resource planning and task scheduling skills
  • Collaborate with external vendors to manage hardware and software procurement, repairs, and maintenance, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Collaborate within the department to maintain standards and functionality.
  • Leads and coordinates multiple platform and related services implementation projects, aligning business, operational, technical, and vendor activities to support successful delivery.
  • Serves as a technical resource and subject matter expert for assigned implementations, supporting workflow analysis, requirements validation, system configuration needs, testing coordination, data or integration dependencies, and technical issue resolution.
  • Translates business and operational needs into clear technical requirements, project plans, testing scenarios, and implementation documentation.
  • Partners with IT, operational stakeholders, and external vendors to identify technical dependencies, risks, and gaps, and drives timely follow-up and resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Research and evaluate hardware and software technology options and weigh the cost/benefit analysis when making large purchases on behalf of the company.
  • Recruit and train employees to staff positions within the technical team.
  • Update and maintain all production technologies ensuring proper maintenance and installation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or information technology, with (5+) year of hands-on experience with IT project management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred)


Required Skills:

  • Advanced computer skills with in-depth knowledge of operating systems, computer networks and cloud services.
  • Thorough understanding of information technology procedures and practices.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools such as MS Project and Visio.
  • Knowledge in Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational, and coordination skills.
  • Able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (read, write, speak) in English and Spanish.
  • Demonstrated ability to bridge project management and technical execution for platform implementations, including requirements gathering, workflow analysis, testing support, issue tracking, and vendor coordination.
  • Ability to understand, document, and communicate system configurations, integrations, data flows, and technical dependencies related to implementation projects.
