Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Analytics Engineer to join its growing Data & Analytics team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving business problems through data, partnering directly with stakeholders and building scalable, trusted data products that power enterprise reporting and modern analytics.
Working closely with Data Engineering and business leaders, you'll design enterprise data models, develop reusable datasets and help build the semantic foundation that supports both self-service analytics and emerging AI capabilities.
Top 3 Skills
1. Dimensional Data Modeling (Highest Priority)
  • 5-10 years designing enterprise data models using Kimball methodology, including star schemas, fact and dimension tables and semantic modeling. The ability to build scalable, business-friendly data models is the highest priority.
2. SQL & Analytics Engineering
  • Advanced SQL skills with hands-on experience developing dbt models, transforming data, optimizing queries and building reusable analytics assets that support reporting and self-service business intelligence.
3. Snowflake & AI Enablement
  • Experience working within Snowflake, with exposure to Snowflake Cortex (Analyst, Agents and Semantic Views) preferred. Understanding how to build trusted semantic layers that support AI and modern analytics is increasingly important, though Snowflake expertise is secondary to strong modeling fundamentals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and maintain enterprise dimensional data models that support reporting and analytics across the organization
  • Build and optimize dbt models to create trusted, reusable datasets
  • Partner directly with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into scalable analytical solutions
  • Develop semantic models and business-friendly data structures within Snowflake
  • Collaborate closely with Data Engineering to ensure data quality, governance and consistency across the analytics ecosystem
  • Support executive dashboards, self-service reporting and enterprise analytics initiatives
  • Help establish the semantic layer that supports AI-enabled analytics and future Snowflake Cortex capabilities
  • Continuously improve data quality, performance and usability across the modern data platform
  • Promote analytics engineering and data modeling best practices

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Engineering or a related field
  • Expert-level SQL development skills
  • Strong experience designing enterprise dimensional data models using Kimball methodology
  • Experience building star schemas, fact tables, dimension tables and semantic models
  • Hands-on experience developing dbt models
  • Experience working within Snowflake
  • Strong understanding of modern ELT architecture and analytics engineering best practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders, directors and executive leadership

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Snowflake Cortex (Analyst, Agents or Semantic Views)
  • Experience designing enterprise semantic layers
  • Azure data platform experience
  • Tableau or other enterprise BI platforms
  • Experience supporting AI-enabled analytics initiatives
  • Executive reporting and self-service analytics experience

What You'll Enjoy
  • Opportunity to build the trusted semantic foundation for a modern enterprise data platform
  • High visibility across business and technology leadership
  • Direct partnership with stakeholders to solve meaningful business challenges
  • Exposure to emerging AI and modern analytics technologies
  • Collaborative environment with opportunities to influence enterprise data strategy
  • Modern cloud-based technology stack focused on innovation and scalability

Key Details
  • Compensation: $70 per hour, upon conversion $140,000 - $150,000 annually
