Job Description

The Role:

The Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst is a critical individual-contributor role within GM's Security Operations organization that turns internal and external threat and vulnerability data into timely, actionable intelligence-directly enabling GM's cyber defenders to prioritize detection, incident response, and risk reduction across our IT, operational technology (OT), and connected-vehicle environments.

As a core member of the Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) team, you will monitor and analyze threat activity and emerging vulnerabilities relevant to GM, maintain and enrich indicators of compromise and foundational threat-actor profiles, and provide time-sensitive intelligence support during active incidents and executive requests for information (RFIs). You will operate GM's intelligence tooling day to day-ingesting, normalizing, and operationalizing feeds through platforms such as our Malware Information Sharing Platform (MISP) and SIEM-and ensure that curated intelligence reaches the Protect, Detect, and Respond teams that depend on it.

This is a hands-on, execution-focused role where you will collaborate closely with Cyber Defense, Product Cybersecurity, Manufacturing/OT Cybersecurity, Third-Party Cybersecurity, and external partners-including Information Sharing and Analysis Centers (ISACs), law enforcement, government agencies, and commercial intelligence providers-to ensure intelligence is aligned to GM's priority risks and security objectives. Your work will measurably improve the speed, quality, and effectiveness of GM's intelligence-driven defenses.

What You'll Do:

  • Monitor, triage, and analyze threat activity and emerging vulnerabilities relevant to GM's IT, OT, and connected-vehicle environments, and assess their potential impact and priority

  • Produce clear, actionable intelligence products-bulletins, vulnerability advisories, and threat-actor and campaign summaries-tailored to both technical defenders and executive audiences

  • Maintain and enrich indicators of compromise, tags, and foundational threat-actor profiles, and operationalize them to GM sensors, tools, and detection workflows

  • Ingest, normalize, and curate intelligence from ISACs, government and law enforcement partners, commercial feeds, and open sources using platforms such as MISP and the SIEM

  • Provide time-sensitive intelligence support during active incidents and complete executive and cross-functional RFIs with well-reasoned, confidence-rated assessments

  • Partner with Cyber Defense, Product Cybersecurity, Manufacturing/OT, and Third-Party Cybersecurity to align intelligence to GM's priority risks and translate requirements into collection and reporting

  • Track relevant adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), mapping activity to frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK to strengthen detection coverage and reduce risk

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of CTI processes, playbooks, enrichment automation, and metrics that raise the maturity of GM's intelligence-driven defenses

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • 2+ years of experience in cyber threat intelligence, security operations, incident response, threat hunting, or a related cybersecurity discipline

  • Working knowledge of the threat-intelligence lifecycle, indicators of compromise, and adversary TTPs, with familiarity with frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and the Diamond Model

  • Ability to analyze security and threat data, correlate across sources, and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Hands-on experience with threat-intelligence and detection tooling (e.g., threat-intelligence platforms such as MISP, SIEM, EDR/NDR) and open-source research techniques

  • Understanding of common attacker techniques, malware behavior, phishing and credential-theft campaigns, and vulnerability and CVE/CVSS concepts

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce concise intelligence products and time-sensitive assessments under deadline

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience

What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Experience supporting intelligence for OT/manufacturing (ICS, PLCs, plant-floor systems) or connected-vehicle and embedded environments

  • Familiarity with ISAC participation (e.g., Auto-ISAC), law enforcement, or government intelligence-sharing communities

  • Hands-on scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, KQL, or similar) to enrich indicators and automate investigative and reporting workflows

  • Experience with clear- and dark-web monitoring, brand/impersonation abuse, employment-fraud investigations, or attribution of online personas

  • Exposure to cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP) and integrating intelligence into cloud-native detection tooling

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., GCTI, GCIH, GCFA, Security+, or equivalent)

  • Prior experience in the automotive industry or a similarly complex, deadline-driven, and regulated field
