Are you passionate about the next frontier of Artificial Intelligence? We are looking for an autonomous, forward-thinking Information Systems Intern to help us build our internal knowledge of Agentic AI.
About the Role:
As an Information Systems Intern, you will be responsible for designing and deploying a secure "Laboratory Environment" from scratch at our Troy, MI facility. Operating under the mentorship and guidance of senior Valeo IS team members, you will explore how autonomous AI agents can be integrated into modern Information Systems and help upscale our internal team's AI literacy.
Seeking a current student who is available to start as soon as possible, who can work on a part-time or full-time basis pending class schedule. Please note that this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Responsibilities Also Include:
  • Build the Lab: Design, setup, and maintain a local sandbox/laboratory environment dedicated to testing LLMs and Agentic AI frameworks, ensuring adherence to basic IT security best practices.
  • Explore IS Use Cases: Research and prototype how autonomous AI agents can automate, optimize, or support Valeo's internal information systems and workflows.
  • Deploy & Containerize: Manage the infrastructure of the lab environment using Linux environments and containerized applications.
  • Drive AI Exposure: Document your findings, create proof-of-concepts, and showcase your prototypes to the Valeo IS team to help develop our collective AI knowledge.

What You Should Have:
  • Currently a student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related field with with a heavy academic focus or strong personal orientation toward Artificial Intelligence.
  • Cybersecurity Foundation: A solid foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles (e.g., access controls, secure configurations, data privacy, or container security concepts).
  • Operating Systems: Strong hands-on familiarity with Linux (specifically Ubuntu).
  • Containerization: Practical experience with container engines such as Podman or Docker.
  • AI & Machine Learning: Foundational knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs) and a strong interest or academic exposure to Agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar).
  • A highly autonomous work ethic, strong curiosity, and the communication skills necessary to translate complex AI concepts to team members.
