About Unclaimed Baggage
As a 50+ year-old family-owned company, we aren't driven by short-term decision-making with the goal of exiting in a few years. As a matter of fact, our vision is a hundred-year vision. We are in business to impact our world by providing world-class technology and services while living out our purpose and doing so profitably. We greet each and every day with enthusiasm, excitement, intentionality, and hope. We are determined to keep our entrepreneurial spirit alive and surround ourselves with team members who embrace our core values.
Basic Description
The Associate Full-Stack Software Engineer is an entry-to-early-career engineering role focused on building and delivering well-scoped software solutions across both frontend and backend systems. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, this role is a strong fit for an engineer who is eager to learn quickly, take ownership of features and bug fixes, and grow into broader technical responsibility over time. You will collaborate closely with product management, senior engineers, and teammates to ship practical, well-engineered solutions across our SaaS products and internal tooling.
Key Responsibilities
  • Implement well-scoped full-stack features and bug fixes across our portfolio of internal tools and SaaS platforms.
  • Develop frontend functionality using React, TypeScript, and Next.js.
  • Contribute to backend services and integrations under the direction of senior engineers.
  • Help maintain and incrementally modernize legacy applications.
  • Write and maintain automated tests, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using Playwright.
  • Practice document-driven and test-driven development methodologies.
  • Leverage AI-enabled development tools frequently to improve productivity, code quality, and learning velocity.
  • Pair with senior engineers, ask thoughtful questions, and build domain knowledge quickly.
  • Participate in code reviews - both giving and receiving feedback - and apply that feedback in subsequent work.
  • Triage and resolve bugs in pre-production and production systems, escalating appropriately.
  • Contribute to operational stability as part of the broader engineering team.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Key Traits
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills.
  • High curiosity and learning velocity in a mixed-technology environment.
  • Full-stack mindset with willingness to work across frontend and backend boundaries.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ownership mentality at the feature and ticket level - finishes what you start and follows through.
  • Open to feedback and committed to growth.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.

Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of professional software development experience (substantive internships and significant project work will be considered).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (e.g., bootcamp graduate or self-taught with a strong portfolio).
  • Working experience with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Working experience with at least one of the following backend languages: C#, Java, or Node.js.
  • Exposure to or working experience with Python preferred - used for scripting, automation, services, and data-oriented work.
  • Exposure to Next.js preferred.
  • Experience writing automated tests; Playwright experience preferred.
  • Frequent use of AI-enabled development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Eagerness to learn from senior engineers, accept feedback, and grow rapidly.

Nice to Have
  • Exposure to NetSuite and integration strategies for NetSuite.
  • Experience building or contributing to internal tools, side projects, or open-source projects.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based environments.

Schedule & Work Location
