Job description

Join our dynamic team as an Import Logistics Coordinator and play a vital role in streamlining our international supply chain operations! This energetic position offers the opportunity to manage end-to-end import processes, optimize transportation and warehouse activities, and collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure seamless product flow.   • Coordinate all aspects of import shipments by managing documentation, customs clearance, and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee freight forwarding activities, including coordination with the clearing agent and the warehouse, to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective transportation solutions.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, 3PL providers, and carriers to negotiate rates, contracts, and service levels that align with company goals.
  • Responsible for bookkeeping, including processing purchase orders, invoices, ordering office supplies and equipment, customer collections, and related activities.
  • Monitor inventory levels through warehouse management systems (WMS) and demand planning tools to optimize stocking strategies and reduce excess inventory.
  • Conduct a root cause analysis of supply chain delays or issues to implement process improvements that enhance efficiency.
  • Manage warehouse distribution activities, including shipping & receiving, materials handling, and updates to the warehouse management system (WMS), as well as inland freight-related activities.
  • Utilize data analysis skills to collect, analyze, and report on logistics performance metrics for continuous process improvement.


Experience

  • 3+ years related experience in Import Logistics coordinator, freight forwarding, and office administration.
  • Must have knowledge and experience with QuickBooks Desktop version.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as Epicor for order fulfillment, procurement, and inventory management, FreeAgent CRM.
  • Proven experience in supply chain management or logistics coordination within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation planning, freight forwarding, customs procedures, and international shipping regulations.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, including inventory control, materials handling equipment, such as forklifts, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze logistics data using tools like Microsoft Excel or supply chain analytics platforms to identify opportunities for process optimization.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with vendors and carriers to secure favorable pricing and service agreements.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments, including production planning, demand planning, and vendor management.
