Job description

Executive Director, Brand Strategy & Creative Governance

Description

Built on service. Powered by people.

Impact was built differently: invest in great people, trust them to do great work, and deliver the kind of service clients remember. That approach helped us grow from a small office technology company into a national managed services provider, while remaining privately owned and people-first. We continue to reinvest in our people, our capabilities, and the opportunities ahead so employees can grow alongside the business. We’ve built something special, but we’re far from finished. The people who join Impact now will help define what comes next.

Job Overview

The Executive Director, Brand Strategy & Creative Governance serves as the enterprise leader responsible for shaping, protecting, and elevating Impact’s brand across every business unit, channel, and customer touchpoint. This role leads the company’s brand strategy, creative direction, and governance model while overseeing multidisciplinary teams spanning design, content, and media. Working closely with executive leadership, this person translates business strategy into clear, compelling brand experiences that strengthen market positioning, drive consistency, and support long-term growth.

  • Own and evolve the enterprise brand strategy, positioning, architecture, and identity across all business units, solutions, and market offerings.
  • Translate brand vision into scalable frameworks that guide messaging, creative direction, and go‑to‑market execution.
  • Serve as the senior creative authority, ensuring consistency in brand tone, voice, visual identity, and experience across internal and external communications.
  • Establish and enforce brand standards, governance models, toolkits, templates, and approval workflows for marketing and cross‑functional teams.
  • Lead the development and stewardship of visual identity systems, messaging playbooks, and creative assets across digital, web, video, campaigns, social, experiential, and sales enablement channels.
  • Act as the final approver for high‑visibility creative and brand initiatives, ensuring all output aligns to the company’s positioning and brand promise.
  • Partner with executive leadership on brand evolution initiatives, including naming, visual identity refinement, architecture decisions, and narrative development.
  • Lead and develop the design, content, and media teams while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and creative excellence.
  • Collaborate with teams across Marketing, Sales, Client Strategy, People, Product, and Service to ensure a cohesive and customer‑centric brand experience.
  • Use customer insights, market research, competitor intelligence, and brand performance metrics to guide optimization, measure impact, and improve awareness, consistency, and preference.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 12+ years of experience in brand leadership, preferably within B2B services, technology, SaaS, or professional services environments.
  • Proven success leading brand strategy, enterprise identity systems, creative teams, and integrated multi‑channel brand initiatives.
  • Deep expertise in creative direction, visual identity development, brand governance, and modern design leadership.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating sophisticated brand systems, high creative standards, and large‑scale brand evolution or transformation work.
  • Experience building and governing scalable design systems and brand frameworks across complex organizations.
  • Advanced understanding of digital‑first design, integrated marketing, visual storytelling, UX alignment, and content strategy.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leaders and guide cross‑functional brand decisions.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, change management, and cross‑functional leadership skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to connect brand and creative work to measurable business outcomes.
