Internship Craft Service information

What is an internship craft service?

Internship Craft Service positions are entry-level roles on film or television sets where interns assist with providing food, snacks, and beverages to the cast and crew. These positions give interns hands-on experience in set operations and exposure to the entertainment industry. Duties typically include setting up and maintaining the craft services table, restocking supplies, and ensuring cleanliness. It's a great way to learn about set etiquette and network with professionals in the field.

What are the typical responsibilities of an internship craft service?

As an intern in a craft service role, you'll help set up and maintain the snack and beverage stations for cast and crew, ensuring they're stocked and clean throughout the shoot. You'll assist with inventory, restocking supplies, and sometimes preparing light snacks or coffee. The job often involves early mornings, working behind the scenes, and collaborating closely with other departments to ensure everyone stays energized and hydrated. It's a great opportunity to observe film set operations, interact with different crew members, and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as an internship craft service?

To thrive as an Internship Craft Service worker, you need a basic understanding of food safety, organizational skills, and attention to detail, often supported by a food handler certification. Familiarity with inventory management systems, kitchen equipment, and safety protocols is typically required. Strong teamwork, punctuality, and effective communication help you excel in supporting crew needs and maintaining a positive work environment. These skills ensure efficient food service operations and contribute to the overall productivity and morale of the production team.
