Are you an experienced Cost Estimator with a passion for precision and excellence? We're on the lookout for a skilled professional like you to join our dynamic team. As Cost Estimator II, you will prepare budgets, estimates, and pre-bid packages for design and construction projects, ensuring the seamless transformation of plans into reality for our valued clients.

In this position, you'll play a crucial part in the accurate and timely preparation of material and labor estimates. Your responsibilities will extend to interacting with vendors, collaborating to compile responsible and precise estimates of costs for projects, all in alignment with the project plans and specifications.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who is bright, enthusiastic, and works comfortably in a team environment. You will assist in preparing cost estimates from the conceptual phase through construction documents. Essential Functions
  • Estimate Development: Analyze construction drawings, documentation, and relevant data to prepare accurate estimates for time, cost, materials, and labor, subject to review by a Senior Estimator. Support project management by preparing estimates that align with project goals for planning, scheduling, and organizing work.
  • Cost Analysis and Monitoring: Assess costeffectiveness by tracking actual costs against initial bids throughout the project lifecycle, providing updates and adjustments as necessary.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Consult with clients, vendors, internal teams, and construction personnel to discuss and formulate estimates, address project concerns, and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Communication: Maintain clear, professional communication with colleagues, clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to discuss updates, changes, and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Information Gathering & ProblemSolving: Take initiative to collect relevant information from various sources, proactively identify potential challenges, and escalate issues to supervisors for resolution.
  • Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management preferred.
  • Experience Requirement: Must have some experience working as a cost estimator, demonstrated through an internship or prior work experience.
  • Familiarity with Estimating Software: Ability to learn inhouse estimating programs such as OnScreen Takeoff, ETakeoff, MII, and Sage.
  • ProblemSolving Skills: Excellent problemsolving abilities, with the capability to analyze complex situations and propose effective solutions.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Technology Proficiency: Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS Excel, for data analysis, reporting, and project management purposes.
