The Hospitality Business Development (INTERN) supports the growth and expansion of the service line by assisting with lead generation, market research, and sales outreach. This entry-level role works closely with senior business development leaders to identify opportunities, support strategic initiatives, and contribute to revenue growth. Responsible for researching hotel ownership groups, tracking hotel industry trends and development projects, and supporting outreach to hotel operators, brands and strategic partners.
The Spirit of the Position:
This internship provides exposure to business development strategy, sales operations, hospitality industry research, client relationship management, and CRM best practices. Successful interns will gain hands-on experience supporting revenue-generating initiatives and executive-level business development activities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Research and identify prospective clients, partners, and business opportunities.
  • Assist with lead generation efforts and maintain prospect databases.
  • Support the preparation of proposals, presentations, and sales materials.
  • Coordinate meetings, follow-up activities, and client communications.
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM systems and track business development activities.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive intelligence, and industry developments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support client onboarding and project execution.
  • Assist in organizing networking events, conferences, and promotional activities.
  • Prepare reports and provide updates on pipeline activity and key performance metrics.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.

Experience
  • Previous internship, academic, volunteer, or professional experience in business development, sales, marketing, hospitality, customer service, or related fields is preferred but not required.

Skills and Competencies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to analyze information and identify growth opportunities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within a business development career path.
