Job Title: Corporate Communications & Public Relations Coordinator

Location: Chicago

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Corporate Communications & Public Relations Coordinator. In this role, you will assist in the day-to-day management of external public relations and internal communications functions, ensuring cohesive messaging and alignment with the company's business goals. This entry-level position is ideal for a motivated recent graduate or someone with emerging professional experience seeking to gain valuable industry career skills. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to execute critical deliverables while shaping corporate communications strategies.

Duties/Responsibilities:The responsibilities listed below outline the key aspects of the role but are not limited to these specific duties. The scope of your work may evolve to meet business needs and department objectives

  • Collaborate with compliance, marketing, sales, and HR teams to coordinate content approvals that ensure consistency and align messaging with company business objectives.

  • Oversee social media posting, scheduling, and monitoring across all company platforms to maintain brand consistency and compliance with industry regulations.

  • Maintain project management tools and calendars for upcoming events, media opportunities, and engagements while providing timely weekly and bi-weekly reports such as media monitoring summaries and business development metrics.

  • Support the implementation of employer branding strategies and ensure alignment across internal and external communications touchpoints.

  • Coordinate press release distribution and assist executives in creating thought leadership content and submission-ready industry publications.

  • Manage corporate media subscriptions and vendor partnerships, including renewal tracking and account oversight.

  • Assist in preparing and submitting industry award applications and recognition program materials in accordance with set requirements.

  • Project manage PR initiatives amongst internal Apex team and third party agencies or strategic partners

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in social media platforms and familiarity with digital marketing tools and strategies.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in high-pressure environments while managing multiple deliverables effectively.

  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Experience with vendor management and subscription oversight preferred.

  • Familiarity with compliance workflows and initiatives in regulated industries will be considered a plus.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Previous internship or entry-level experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field preferred.

Salary Range

$52,000-$65,000

The annual base salary range for this position is noted above. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and office location.
