Pay Rate: Min $22.00 to Max $26.50
Summary: The key responsibilities of the Bin Group Control Room Operator are to manage work-in-process product by directing the product flow into and out of the bin group using process control software and clearly communicating direction to the team involved.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Perform all job duties with health safety and food safety as the number one priority.
  • The Bin Group Control Room Operator must understand the product and equipment flow.
  • The Bin Group Control Room Operator needs to work within and promote a team environment to systematically troubleshoot, identify, and resolve timely with appropriate communication to leadership.
  • The Bin Group Control Room Operator must communicate with the Materials Supervisor to ensure customer priorities are met and, also, communicate with the Re-mill Control Room Operator to coordinate activities across the bin group and re-mill
  • The Bin Group Control Room Operator must keep accurate production records as well as enforce company policies.
  • The operator's responsibility is to make any necessary changes to the process in order to meet customer specifications.
  • The process changes consist of screens, decks, cut or variety of peanuts being processed. The Operator will assist the team to make sure safety, quality, and production goals are followed.
  • The control room operator must keep product flowing in order to keep the shelling plant running efficiently.
  • The Operator needs to monitor grades, weights, and foreign materials checks.
  • The operator must follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and be willing to perform any other tasks assigned by the Material/Inventory Coordinator.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of one year experience operating equipment in a manufacturing environment, or one-year experience running complex farm equipment, one year of experience preferred and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be mechanically inclined; having the capability to change decks, screens, and sizing reels not limited to any other function needed within the shelling process.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The shelling facility is not a climate-controlled environment.
In addition to the duties listed above, the position holder must carry out tasks assigned by his supervisor that are essentially related to their duties.
