Internship Computer Vision Robotics information

What is an internship computer vision robotics?

Internship Computer Vision Robotics positions are temporary roles designed for students or early-career professionals to gain practical experience in applying computer vision techniques within robotic systems. Interns in these roles typically work on projects involving image processing, object detection, 3D vision, and integrating visual data into robotic control systems. These internships help candidates build technical skills, gain exposure to real-world robotics challenges, and often require knowledge of programming languages such as Python or C++, as well as familiarity with machine learning frameworks. They are commonly offered by research labs, tech companies, and robotics startups.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an internship computer vision robotics?

To thrive in an Internship Computer Vision Robotics role, you typically need a solid background in computer science, mathematics, and robotics, often supported by coursework or projects in machine learning and image processing. Familiarity with programming languages like Python or C++, and experience using tools such as OpenCV, ROS, and deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow or PyTorch) are commonly required. Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and effective communication skills set candidates apart in multidisciplinary environments. These skills are essential for developing innovative solutions and collaborating on complex robotics projects.

What types of projects and technologies will I typically work on during an internship in computer vision robotics?

As an intern in computer vision robotics, you will often work on hands-on projects involving tasks like object detection, image segmentation, sensor data processing, or robotic navigation. You may use programming languages like Python or C++, and frameworks such as OpenCV, ROS (Robot Operating System), and TensorFlow or PyTorch for machine learning components. Interns collaborate closely with engineers and researchers, participating in code reviews, testing algorithms on real or simulated robots, and troubleshooting system integration. This role offers exposure to both software development and hardware interaction, providing a comprehensive experience in robotics and computer vision.

What is the difference between Internship Computer Vision Robotics vs Internship Machine Learning?

AspectInternship Computer Vision RoboticsInternship Machine Learning

LS&Co. is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and continuous optimization of large-scale distribution and logistics operations. This role blends industrial engineering fundamentals, advanced automation, and data-driven decision-making to deliver measurable cost, service, and productivity improvements in a fast-moving omnichannel supply-chain environment.
The ideal candidate is a systems thinker and change agent-comfortable operating at the intersection of physical operations, digital platforms, and cross-functional leadership. You will influence strategy, translate data into action, and help shape our next generation of intelligent supply chain operations.
About the Job
Position Goals:
  • Deliver sustainable operational savings year-over-year, through engineered standards, continuous improvement initiatives, and technology-enabled optimization.
  • Improve throughput, labor productivity, service levels, and process efficiency across multiple sites.
  • Enable data-driven operations by modernizing KPIs, analytics, and decision frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational & Process Engineering:
  • Lead end-to-end process design and optimization across receiving, storage, picking, packing, sortation, inventory control, waving, and shipping operations.
  • Apply advanced industrial engineering and Lean methodologies (e.g., method analysis, work measurement, ergonomics, 5S, Kanban, poka-yoke) to improve performance at scale.
  • Conduct time studies and capacity modeling to support business cases for new initiatives and capital investments.
  • Support and lead operational excellence events.

Automation, Layout & Systems Design:
  • Design and evolve facility layouts and material/process flows using AutoCAD and related CAD tools.
  • Lead the engineering and implementation of integrated automation systems, including AS/RS, high-speed sortation, conveyance, robotics, and print-and-apply solutions.
  • Partner with vendors and integrators on equipment specifications, system architecture, and site layouts.
  • Oversee process and system commissioning, testing, and go-live activities to ensure operational readiness.

Data, Analytics & Intelligent Operations
  • Drive improved engineered standards, KPIs, and performance dashboards across sites.
  • Perform advanced data mining using SQL and warehouse management system (WMS) data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Leverage AI/ML-enabled analytics (e.g., predictive labor modeling, demand-driven capacity planning, anomaly detection, and process optimization) to inform operational decisions.
  • Collaborate with data science and IT partners to translate operational problems into analytical and machine-learning use cases.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Execution
  • Act as a trusted engineering partner to operations leaders, start-up teams, IT, safety, and external vendors.
  • Manage project schedules, quality, change requests, and vendor performance for initiatives ranging from sub-$1M to $5M+.
