Job description

Position Purpose

The Assistant Professor of Psychology in Clinical/Counseling will serve primarily as an instructor and curriculum designer in a newly developed MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. This position is tenure track. The program is projected to enroll students in 2028 and will seek CACREP accreditation.

Essential Job Functions
  • Design curriculum to be compliant with CACREP accreditation.
  • Teach both graduate and undergraduate courses.
  • Participate in university service and engage in scholarship/professional activity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Requirements
  • Education: Doctorate in Counselor Education.
  • Experience: Prior teaching and curricular development experience (preferred), clinical experience or field work/internship from a CACREP-accredited program.
  • Skills: Solid understanding of Microsoft and Apple operating systems; sound judgment and prioritization skills; excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills; quick learner with great prioritization skills; ability to work independently and be dependable; ability to accept divergent views while maintaining a constructive working relationship with other team members.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work with a computer for long periods of the day; ability to attend off campus meetings; office setting, standing, walking, sitting.
  • Special Requirements: A valid driver's license and driving record which meets institutional requirements is required; Requires travel between campus locations or to attend off site meetings.
Work Hours

Expected equivalent of 40 hours per week, but days/hours may vary as needed. Hybrid or work from home employment will be considered if candidate can demonstrate ability to fulfill this role effectively off-site.
