Tier 1 IT Field Engineer
Entry-Level Position

Position Overview
As a Tier 1 IT Field Engineer, you will be the friendly, professional face of CDS, providing onsite IT support for computers, end users, and assisting with network and server troubleshooting under the supervision of the Regional IT Service Manager. You will ensure our clients’ technology environments run smoothly by handling day-to-day maintenance tasks, responding to helpdesk tickets, and escalating complex issues as needed.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide onsite support for computer hardware, software, and end-user inquiries
  • Troubleshoot basic network and server issues in coordination with the Regional IT Service Manager
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to deliver effective and efficient solutions
  • Maintain thorough documentation of client environments and work performed
  • Deliver excellent customer service and always maintain a professional demeanor
Driving Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Comfortable driving a company car to visit client sites

Required Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of Windows-based environments (desktop and server)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, general computer hardware, and software troubleshooting
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-centric approach
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in a helpdesk or field support role
  • Entry-level certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+)
Education and Certifications
  • Relevant degrees or certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco) are preferred, but proven experience can substitute for formal education
