Mechanical Engineer (Entry-Level)

About the Role

Kickstart your engineering career as a Mechanical Engineer I, where you’ll work alongside experienced engineers to support the design, development, and production of transformer and power system products.

This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to build technical skills, gain exposure to real-world engineering challenges, and contribute to products used in critical military and industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the mechanical design of power transformers and related assemblies
  • Support engineers in creating 3D models and drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks)
  • Help develop and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, bills of materials, and test procedures
  • Participate in design reviews and learn best practices for quality and reliability
  • Interface with customers to present new designs, answers questions, and provide ongoing support.
  • Support testing and validation activities, including environmental and performance testing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, quality, and electrical engineering
  • Assist in troubleshooting design or production issues and implementing improvements
  • Help design basic fixtures or tools for manufacturing or testing
  • Learn and apply principles of thermal and structural design


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
  • Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles (thermodynamics, mechanics, materials)
  • Exposure to CAD software (SolidWorks or similar) through coursework or internships
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
  • Good communication and teamwork skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship, co-op, or project experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Exposure to FEA or simulation tools (academic experience acceptable)
  • Basic understanding of electronics packaging or thermal concepts
  • Hands-on experience through labs, senior design projects, or personal builds
