Group/Division
With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Optical Metrology Division products are used for optical overlay metrology. The portfolio of products includes unique solution packages which are based on hardware and software systems to enhance yield and effectiveness. As a world leader in its field of expertise, the division's products are the most advanced in performance (measurement accuracy of nanometers and below), reliability, ease of use and compatibility with other KLA's products. Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with strong experience in multidisciplinary software-hardware systems. The ideal candidate thrives in complex system environments, demonstrates deep technical expertise in multithreaded/multiprocessing software, and brings a strong troubleshooting mindset to solve challenging, real-world problems in semiconductor equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain software components for complex SW/HW integrated systems
  • Build high-performance, scalable applications leveraging C++, C#, .NET Core, and .NET Framework on Windows and Linux platforms
  • Develop and optimize multithreaded and multiprocessing applications for performance-critical systems
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, systems, and algorithm teams to integrate software into end-to-end solutions
  • Diagnose and resolve system-level issues using strong debugging and troubleshooting techniques
  • Leverage AI tools and technologies to accelerate development, testing, and analysis workflows
  • Contribute to system architecture, design reviews, and technical decision-making
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly through presentations, documentation, and cross-team discussions

Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctorate (Academic) Degree and related work experience of 1 years; master's Level Degree and related work experience of 4 years; bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 6 years
  • Proven experience developing and troubleshooting multidisciplinary SW/HW systems
  • Strong programming expertise in C++ and/or C#
  • Experience with multithreading and multiprocessing concepts
  • Hands-on experience developing applications on Windows and/or Linux operating systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on debugging complex systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Base Pay Range: $115,900.00 - $197,000.00 Annually
