Job description

We are seeking a Materials and Process Engineer in our Broomfield, CO, location.
All applicants for placement in safety-sensitive positions will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Works between scientists, engineers, material management, and technicians to select materials and processes based on mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties.
  • Participate in troubleshooting process issues, including root cause analysis
  • Help document material specifications, process parameters, and test results
  • Evaluate materials for approval in applications to support production
  • Assist in developing processes that support bill-of-material creation and change management.
  • Review the designs for material and process failure modes.
  • Research and evaluate new and existing processes, operations, and support systems for adaptation and/or improvements needed to manufacture the quantum computer.
  • Perform material characterization of systems in Quantinuum labs and partner with academic and national lab institutions to gather relevant supporting data for materials-related non-conformances and selections.

YOU MUST HAVE:
  • Bachelor's Degree Minimum
  • Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status.
  • Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.

WE VALUE:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, Materials, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Experience manufacturing hardware as part of projects, internships, clubs, or hobbies.
  • Willingness for hands-on work.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Continuing enrollment in degree program upon completion of the internship
  • Basic understanding of material properties and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with lab equipment and testing methods (SEM, FTIR, optical microscopy, DMM, CMM)
  • CAD Experience
  • Experience in system engineering, physics, lasers & optics, electrical engineering, or closely allied fields.
  • Basic understanding of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Individuals who are results-oriented and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done despite competing priorities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Validated academic excellence (3.0 GPA and higher)
