Our summer internships are full-time (40 hours/week), paid positions lasting 10-11 weeks. We offer competitive compensation, educational and social programming throughout the summer, as well as housing assistance and relocation support for eligible interns.

As a Supply Chain or Supply Management Intern, you'll gain exposure to key supply chain functions, work alongside experienced leaders, and contribute to projects that support critical business objectives. Through hands-on experience, you'll develop valuable skills, expand your network, and make a real impact on the organization.

Supply Chain:

 Integrates demand planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and continuous improvement to drive cost efficiency, regulatory compliance, resiliency, and service performance across Medtronic’s global business units.

 Plans, sources, manufactures, and distributes medical technologies worldwide, ensuring high-quality products reach hospitals, clinicians, and patients safely, reliably, and on time.

Supply Management:

 Identifies, selects, and manages suppliers to ensure a reliable, cost-effective, and high- quality supply of materials, components, and services that support patient therapies worldwide.

 Drives supplier performance, mitigates supply risks, ensures regulatory and quality compliance, and delivers cost savings through contract management, supplier development, and strategic procurement initiatives.

Location and Work Model

The majority of internship positions are based at primary hubs in Minnesota with additional opportunities available in Colorado, Connecticut, Tennessee, and Texas. Candidate location preferences are strongly considered during the interview and offer process; however, flexibility increases the number of potential opportunities available. All interns must reside in the U.S. for the duration of the internship.

Medtronic is working a minimum of 4 days a week onsite as part of its commitment to professional growth, cross-functional collaboration, and engineering the extraordinary.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

To be considered for a Summer 2027 Supply Chain/Supply Management internship, your resume must clearly demonstrate how you meet each of these basic requirements.

 Working toward a bachelor’s in Supply Chain Management or a related major with an anticipated graduation date of Winter 2027, Spring 2028, Winter 2028, or Spring 2029.

 Ability to participate full time, 40 hours per week, as part of the intern cohort from June 1-August 13 for semester system programs or June 14-August 20 for quarter system programs.

 Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis and do not require sponsorship now or in the future for an employment visa. The Medtronic Summer Internship Program does not provide work authorization sponsorship for summer intern positions. Individuals with temporary visas such as E, F-1, H-1, H-2, L, B, J or TN, or who need sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, are not eligible for the Medtronic Summer Internship Program.

Nice to Have: Preferred Requirements

 Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale

 Prior project work in a team environment with defined deliverables

 Relevant academic project or internship experience

 Technical writing skills

 Experience creating documentation, project summaries, or Supply Chain presentations.
