***This is an onsite/in-person internship based in Red Lion, PA ***

Responsibilities-

Essential Functions:

  • Will undertake, initially, a range of administrative and support tasks for the Large Caliber Ammunition Engineering department
  • These tasks will provide the opportunity to apply basic Engineering skills in a highly active environment
  • Based on experience and abilities the intern will be assigned tasks of increasing complexity that are appropriate to the level of education and skills
  • As part of the intern position the department will have the opportunity to get to know the candidate and their suitability for potential future position within the company
  • The right candidate should be able to demonstrate the required skills, enthusiasm and interest in the Engineering aspects the large caliber ammunition business together with an aptitude for working with various internal and external customers to achieve assigned tasks
  • Provides support to technical employees working in an organizational function related to the Intern's area of study

  • Supports equipment set up and monitors tests and experiments

  • Observes results, collects data, and compiles summaries and reports

  • Learns technical processes and procedures

  • Job shadows other more experienced professionals and or support staff

  • May also support the documentation and updates of procedures or work instructions

Qualifications-

Required Qualifications:

  • Required education and experience: Must be currently enrolled majoring in Engineering Quality, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical and/or similar technical degree program or be within 6 months of graduation; No prior experience needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Ability to work as part of a team. Oral and written communication skills. Attentiveness. Ability to understand and follow directions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Requires regular movement throughout GDOTS facilities.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
  • This position is Safety-Sensitive.

Travel Requirements:

  • No or very little travel likely.
