Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. First to deliver the best imaging and classification data for every defect or point on any layer at any time. EBeam's mission encapsulates its role as the "eyes" of KLA's product line, providing timely information on defects and critical locations on the wafer at the highest spatial resolution possible. Customers use EBeam products alongside KLA patterned and bare wafer inspectors to quickly understand the nature of defects and other imperfections on product wafers and take action to correct the manufacturing process.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

KLA is currently recruiting Regional Development Applications Engineers for its product divisions specializing in the design and manufacturing of inspection and review equipment for the semiconductor industry.

Located in Boise, Idaho this position is responsible for supporting product evaluations and developing solutions related to gap defect detection and process optimization at customer fabrication sites. Successful candidates will cultivate deep expertise in both KLA equipment and semiconductor manufacturing processes. Key responsibilities include owning projects, too recipe setups and optimization, resolving critical production issues, training customers and new application engineers, managing regional customer escalations, facilitating product demonstrations and final acceptances, and conducting competitive technology assessments. The position also requires effective communication of technological advancements and new applications to the Marketing and Engineering functional teams, as well as comprehensive support for pre-sale and post-sale activities.

Additionally, this role involves characterizing next-generation systems and features through rigorous design of experiments (DOE), data analysis, and thorough documentation as Applications notes and best-known methods.

Prior experience in semiconductor process technology is preferred. The position necessitates flexibility for international travel up to 25%, including potential extended assignments ranging from four to eight weeks. Strong leadership and collaboration skills, combined with a solid balance of technical proficiency and interpersonal effectiveness, are essential for success in this role.
