See our benefits summary below.**POSITION SUMMARY:**Furst-McNess Company is seeking a Commodity Risk & Trading Manager to lead the development and execution of risk management strategies across commodity merchandising and trading activities. This role is responsible for evaluating and managing market, credit, liquidity, and operational risks while supporting profitable business growth. The Commodity Risk & Trading Manager will work closely with commercial, merchandising, finance, and leadership teams to ensure trading activities align with company policies, risk tolerance, and strategic objectives.**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Develop, implement, and oversee commodity risk management and hedging strategies* Monitor trading, merchandising, and hedging activities to ensure compliance with company policies, risk limits, and regulatory requirements* Analyze market conditions, trading positions, and risk exposures, providing recommendations to support business decisions* Establish and monitor position limits and risk controls for merchandising and trading activities* Evaluate and manage market, credit, liquidity, and operational risks associated with commodity trading and procurement* Partner with commercial, merchandising, finance, and operations teams to support disciplined growth and profitability* Collaborate with external risk management partners and advisors to optimize risk mitigation strategies* Prepare and present risk reports, performance metrics, and recommendations to senior leadership* Develop and maintain risk management policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks* Review commodity contracts and agreements to ensure compliance with established guidelines* Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and sound risk management practices* Performs other duties as assigned**QUALIFICATIONS:*** Bachelor's degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Finance, Business, or a related field; equivalent industry experience may be considered* 7+ years of experience in commodity merchandising, trading, procurement, risk management, or a related agricultural business function* Strong understanding of commodity markets, hedging strategies, futures and options, and risk management principles* Experience managing market, credit, and operational risk within an agricultural or commodity-based business environment* Knowledge of grain, feed ingredient, livestock, poultry, or related agricultural markets preferred* Series 3 and/or Series 30 registration, or the ability to obtain required licensing* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business systems* Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record* Ability to travel as needed**About Furst-McNess Company:**For more than a century, Furst‐McNess Company has been a trusted leader in animal nutrition, delivering innovative feed, mineral, and management solutions to livestock producers across the United States.
