Business Intelligence Systems Technical Training Project Lead, Working for the U.S. Coast Guard (CG)
The Coast Guard (USCG) Business Intelligence Systems Technical Training Project Lead leads all technical training activities for Coast Guard business intelligence systems and may supervise Technical Training Specialists. This role requires independent performance, strong communication skills, and the ability to support a fast‑changing technical environment. The position is on-site at the USCG Headquarters building. Must be a U.S. Citizen or a legal resident. 
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 10 years of professional experience or a master’s degree
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience in public speaking or teaching
  • Experience managing or leading teams
  • U.S. citizen or legal resident
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to travel up to 75%
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver technical training for Coast Guard business intelligence systems
  • Provide expert functional and technical support to system users
  • Supervise and mentor Technical Training Specialists
  • Develop training materials, courses, and instructional tools
  • Maintain consistent, high‑quality support in a dynamic technical environment
  • Communicate effectively with military and civilian personnel at all levels
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Travel frequently to Coast Guard locations to deliver training and support
  • Adapt to new system features, tools, and policy changes
Required Skills
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities
  • Clear communication with diverse audiences
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities
  • Flexibility to support frequent system updates and a demanding travel schedule
Highly Preferred Knowledge
  • Understanding of Coast Guard metrics and measurement systems
  • Experience with current CG business intelligence systems
  • Proficiency with business intelligence tools, especially IBM Cognos and Qlik
  • Military background or experience working in a military environment (preferred but not required)
Highly Preferred Experience
  • Prior contracting or contract management experience
