Primarily days with night, weekend and holiday on-call involvement (United States of America)

Pay Range:

The pay range for this position is listed below. Actual pay rate dependent upon experience.

$20.50 - $25.50

Position Highlights

There are openings nights shifts.

Shifts is 6:00pm-6:00am

2-week rotating schedule: 1st week 36 hours (3-12 hour shifts) & 2nd week 48 hours (4-12 hours shifts)

Every other weekend off

A Brief Overview
Responsible to provide security for patients, employees, and visitors; protects hospital buildings, assesses, and premises as assigned. Also provides traffic control and maintains parking lots and structures.
What you will do

  • Patrol hospital buildings and premises to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and intruders.
  • Monitor conduct of visitors on hospital premises. Confront unauthorized persons for questioning as needed.
  • Report safety and/or fire hazards or security violations.
  • Respond to inquiries for advice or assistance from hospital personnel, students, and visitors. Provide restraints for psychiatric patients as needed. Escort personnel to parking lots and hospital buildings as requested.
  • Participate in investigations; Maintain records and prepare incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities.
  • Secure and/or unlock offices and facilities as required. May secure patient valuables or lost and found articles. Maintains log of items received.
  • Control parking and traffic flow. Enforce parking regulations.
  • Respond to all emergency codes and security requests (i.e. Staff Assist, Security Alert, Fire alarms). Respond to CARE Flight operations as needed.
  • Mentors security interns in the role of security. Serves as a liaison to local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily including having visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Drivers License - Licensing Board

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • High School or GED Equivalent
  • Less than 1 year
