SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Clinical Informatics Specialist serves as educator and subject matter expert for specific modules in Epic and/or other clinical information systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Provide education and training to users of clinical information systems virtually and in person
  • Provides support to users of clinical information systems
  • Assesses workflow related processes and requirements to facilitate system enhancements and modifications
  • Recommends, implements, and supports approved system optimizations
  • Participates in process improvement initiatives to identify potential uses of the information systems and potential optimization of current use of systems
QUALIFICATIONSExperience
  • Previous experience for which CLINICAL INFORMATICS SPECIALIST will be training
  • Two years in education, healthcare, or a related field
Skills/Competencies
  • Ability to adapt teaching style for a diverse group of learners in a structured classroom or informal one-on-one setting
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills with a dedication to building strong relationships
  • Understanding of clinical and clerical workflows, processes, and terminology as they relate to designated Epic modules and other clinical information systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • High School Diploma/GED
Licenses Requirements

Certifications Required or Preferred
  • Epic Credentialed Trainer within 3 months of hire
