Job description

Position Summary
Un Mundo de Amigos Preschool is growing and opening a new location in Long Beach! We’re hiring a Preschool Site Supervisor who is excited about the opportunity to help open a new preschool, support a team and create a positive experience for the families we serve.
The Site Supervisor reports to the Area Director and oversees the day-to-day operations of the site, including programming, compliance, classroom management, employee supervision and community engagement. The role partners closely with families, employees and the community to build strong relationships and promote the school’s mission. The Site Supervisor will be responsible for occasional travel to other Un Mundo de Amigos sites.
About the New School Site
The new site will have 3 classrooms and provide high quality early childhood education to 2-5 year old children living in traditionally underserved communities. Following the guidelines of the Reggio Emilia approach, we provide a safe learning environment for all children to reach their potential. Un Mundo de Amigos Preschool has been providing services to children and families for over 15 years.
Compensation & Benefits
The compensation for this position is $26.00 per hour. This position is also eligible for the following benefits:

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the center including the curriculum, food program, California State Preschool Program, Kindergarten Readiness, maintaining QSLA quality rating, and compliance with all relevant regulations, policies and procedures (Title 5, Title 22, QSLA).
  • Represent the school in a positive light to the families we serve, as well as the greater Long Beach and ECE Communities.
  • Directly supervise a small team of Teachers and Head Teachers, including delegation and performance management (recognition, annual reviews, ongoing performance feedback).
  • Support the implementation of school-wide initiatives, policies, and procedures, including licensing, health and safety requirements.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with families to build strong partnerships.
  • Nurture new and existing relationships with collaborative partners, local nonprofits and community leaders.
  • Network in the community and participate in partnerships/collaborative opportunities with other nonprofit organizations.
  • Spend time in each classroom in order to provide meaningful coaching, mentoring and modeling for the team.
  • Develop annual program calendars and schedule for teachers and support staff.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new hires.
  • Track and order program supplies.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of classroom and school events, including family engagement activities and community celebrations.
  • Provide coverage for employee rest breaks and meal periods.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience required.
  • Child Development Site Supervisor’s Permit required.
  • At least 3 years of early childhood experience required.
  • At least 3 years of ECE supervision experience required.
  • Commitment to the mission of high-quality, inclusive early childhood education.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships.
  • Enjoys interacting with other people for the purpose of connecting them to the organization.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and respond to the individual needs of children.
  • Current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with parents, children and staff.
  • Bilingual preferred.
