SUMMARY:

The Financial Advisor Intern role is designed for motivated, intellectually curious students who aspire to pursue the CFP designation and build a career in wealth management. This is a paid, in-person, part-time internship ($20/hr) offering meaningful, hands-on exposure to real client work-not just observation.

Interns will gain direct insight into how a successful wealth management office operates while learning alongside CFP professionals, Associate Advisors, and Client Service teams in a collaborative, high-performing environment. Our Addison office provides a dynamic setting to learn the business at scale.

This program will run at approximately 10 hours per week, with flexible scheduling between 8:00am-5:00pm.

What You'll Do

  • Rotate across teams to understand Allworth Financial's integrated wealth management model
  • Partner closely with an Associate Advisor to develop foundational advisory and planning skills
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of financial plans for real clients
  • Support the Client Service Team to understand the full client experience
  • Conduct research and assist with casework related to financial planning and operations
  • Under CFP supervision, help respond to client questions across key areas of financial planning
  • Shadow client meetings with Financial Advisors to gain firsthand advisory exposure
  • Participate in company workshops, events, and learning sessions

Who We're Looking For

  • Currently pursuing a BS/BA in Financial Planning, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Intends to pursue the CFP designation
  • Self-motivated, curious, and eager to learn
  • Strong communicator who enjoys teamwork and relationship-building
  • Comfortable learning new systems, tools, and financial concepts

Why This Internship Stands Out

This is more than a resume-builder-it's an opportunity to:

  • Learn directly from experienced advisors who have built and scaled successful practices
  • Gain exposure to real clients, real plans, and real career paths
  • Build a foundation for future roles at Allworth, including Associate Advisor opportunities
