Job description

Last year our HCA Healthcare colleagues invested over 156,000 hours volunteering in our communities. As a Phlebotomist with Centerpoint Medical Center you can be a part of an organization that is devoted to giving back!

Schedule: 1pm-9:30pm (5-8s). Rotating weekends requirement.

Job Summary and Qualifications

What you will do in this role:  

  • You will greet patients and instruct them in proper specimen collection methods. 
  • You will draw blood specimens from patients by using finger sticks, heel sticks or venipunctures and collect other specimens as required. 
  • You will label specimens for identification purposes accurately and enter specimen data into the computer. 
  • You will prepare samples for microbiology, hematology, serology, blood bank, and urinalysis departments. 
  • You will assist with clerical duties by answering telephone calls. 
  • Will work closely with Nursing staff.

What Qualifications Will You Need: 

  • Graduate of Phlebotomy Course/Program required.
  • Phlebotomy certification highly preferred, but can obtain once hired.
  • One year of experience needed for interview consideration.
  • MINIMUM 8-10 sticks per hour.
  • Must have open availability for weekends for PRN.
  • Hospital experience is highly preferred.
  • Phlebotomy internship desirable.
  • Larger facility experience desirable.
  • Looking for trainable candidates with good experience and the ability to work as a team.
  • Six months computer keyboarding or equivalent preferred.
