Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Acute Care Therapy Department at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center provides the evaluation and treatment of patients with a wide variety of diagnoses in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding medical setting. Our Therapists are critical members of a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to achieving optimal outcomes for our patients. We are committed to teamwork and collaboration; our participation in interdisciplinary patient rounding occurs daily on a number of units throughout the facility providing therapy professionals to work autonomously.

Expectations:
  • Provides patient care, including evaluating the patient for treatment, providing and directing administration of the care plan upon the referral from the physician. 
  • Consults with other health care disciplines to coordinate therapeutic programs and discharge planning for individual patients.
  • Instructs patients and caregivers in home program exercises and functional activities. 
  • Assists with patient program management, while delivering quality patient services.

Job Requirements
Minimum:
  • Internship or rotation in appropriate clinical setting.
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Computer skills.
  • Arizona License in professional area.
  • American Heart Association BLS.
 
Preferred:
  • Two (2) years progressive experience in clinical area performing patient clinical care.
  • Masters or Doctorate degree in appropriate clinical area.
  • Prior use of electronic health record.
  • Aquatics Lymphodemia orthopedics and neuro Physical Therapy experience highly preferred.
