Are you a talented designer with a passion for beautiful, well-crafted books? Do you have a sharp eye for detail, an appreciation for typography, and experience in both print and digital design? We're looking for a Publications Designer to join our creative team full-time at our Turners Falls, MA office.
In this highly collaborative, on-site role, you'll design and typeset engaging layouts for books, catalogs, and a wide variety of branded materials. From hardcover jackets to interior page layouts, you'll bring stories to life through thoughtful design and production excellence.
What You'll Do:
  • Design print and digital products with a strong focus on books and marketing materials
  • Typeset text, layout images, and prepare interior and exterior mechanicals
  • Clean up and manipulate images, create or edit line art, graphs, and charts
  • Collaborate on cover designs and contribute to mood boards and concept development
  • Manage files and formats for high-quality prepress and printing processes
  • Partner with editorial, production, and marketing teams to meet project goals
  • Stay current on design trends and support the search for new artists and illustrators
  • Assist with internal materials like forms, signage, and business collateral

What You Bring:
  • 3+ years of professional design experience (book layout experience strongly preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Art, or related field
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) on Mac
  • Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and image formats (RGB/CMYK)
  • Retouching and color correction skills
  • Impeccable attention to detail and organization

Physical Requirements:
