Internship Description:
Assist with WDC projects including:
  • New water and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Rehabilitations and improvements for existing treatment facilities.
Some examples of design tasks are:
  • Assist in developing drawings for various treatment processes
  • Optimize specifications for equipment and construction materials
  • Learn and use design software to model pumping systems and hydraulics
  • Develop project cost estimates
  • Develop calculations and tools to solve design problems
  • Provide peer reviews to ensure quality standards are met
  • Review contractor submittals for projects in construction
  • Attend site visits

Requirements:
  • Candidates must be pursuing a mechanical engineering, biological engineering, biosystems engineering, civil engineering, or chemical engineering degree from an ABET accredited program.
Work Environment
This is an in-office position; duties and responsibilities are generally performed in an office setting. Occasional travel to offsite locations to perform work and work-related tasks or to attend meetings may be required.
