Job Description

We are seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Small Animal Veterinary Dermatologist to join our growing team of specialists. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment with a strong support team and access to advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities. The ideal candidate is passionate about dermatology, client communication, and providing high-quality, compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of dermatologic conditions in small animals, including allergic, autoimmune, infectious, and parasitic diseases.
  • Perform dermatologic procedures such as skin scrapings, cytologies, biopsies, and allergy testing (intradermal or serum-based).
  • Conduct video otoscopy and deep ear flushes as needed.
  • Provide dermatologic consultations for in-house referrals and external clients.
  • Collaborate with referring veterinarians and in-house specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
  • Educate clients on treatment plans, medication use, and long-term management strategies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with or interest in teaching and mentoring support staff or interns
  • Familiarity with advanced dermatologic diagnostics and treatment protocols
  • Ability to manage complex cases and work collaboratively with other specialists
Qualifications
  • DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited veterinary school
  • Board certification or residency training in Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD or ECVD)
  • Active veterinary license in [Insert State] or ability to obtain one
