Job description

ROLE The Business Systems Analyst - HSE Digital Solutions is responsible for the administration, configuration, optimization, and continuous improvement of SMJV's HSE digital systems. The role acts as the primary liaison between HSE operations, business stakeholders, IT, and software vendors to ensure digital solutions support field operations through efficient, user-friendly, and scalable business processes. The successful candidate will lead the ongoing development of the Origami Risk platform while supporting Power BI reporting, SharePoint solutions, workflow automation, and future HSE digital initiatives.

The role will work closely with the HSE team to translate operational requirements into practical digital solutions that improve efficiency, reporting, compliance, and user experience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES HSE Digital Systems Administer, configure, and optimize the Origami Risk platform. Develop and maintain electronic forms, workflows, business rules, and notifications.

Manage system permissions, security roles, and user administration. Coordinate system testing, upgrades, and software releases. Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolutions with vendors.

Develop and maintain system documentation and configuration standards. Plan, coordinate, and execute historical data migrations, including the import and validation of legacy HSE records and manual entry of historical incident data where required. Business Analysis Gather and document business requirements from operational stakeholders.

Map current-state and future-state business processes. Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate HSE processes. Prepare functional specifications and support solution design.

Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency and user experience Reporting & Business Intelligence Develop executive dashboards and KPI reporting. Design and maintain Power BI dashboards and data visualizations. Ensure data quality, consistency, and reporting accuracy.

Support regulatory, client, and internal reporting requirements. Identify opportunities to improve data-driven decision making. SharePoint & Microsoft Power Platform Develop and maintain SharePoint sites, lists, libraries, and workflows.

Build Power Apps and Power Automate solutions to support HSE operations. Improve integration between Origami Risk, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and other enterprise systems. Identify opportunities to automate manual business processes.

Stakeholder Engagement Partner with HSE, Operations, HR, and IT to understand business needs. Facilitate workshops and gather user feedback. Deliver user training and support change management initiatives.

Promote user adoption through practical, user-focused solutions. Maintain strong working relationships with software vendors and implementation partners. Continuous Improvement Monitor system performance and identify enhancement opportunities.

Stay current with emerging technologies, including AI and automation tools. Support the organization's long-term HSE digital transformation strategy. Develop governance standards for future system enhancements and integrations.

Note: In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Qualifications Degree or Diploma in Business Analysis, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Experience Five (5) or more years supporting enterprise business systems.

Experience implementing, configuring, or administering enterprise software platforms. Experience gathering business requirements, mapping business processes, and delivering digital solutions. Experience developing Power BI dashboards and reports.

Experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps and Power Automate), and workflow automation. Experience supporting HSE, EHS, or operational management systems is preferred. Experience with Origami Risk or a similar enterprise HSE management platform is considered an asset.

Skills and Knowledge Strong business process analysis, workflow design, and continuous improvement skills. Knowledge of data management, business intelligence, and reporting. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and change management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects in a fast-paced environment. WORKING CONDITIONS This position is based in Calgary, AB.

Occasional travel to project sites, regional offices, vendor locations, and the United States may be required to support system implementation and business needs. This is a 12-month full-time contract position operating primarily Monday to Friday. Additional hours may be required based on project and operational needs.
