Site Hours: Monday- Friday 8:00am to 5pm
Under the supervision of a qualified Terros Health professional; the student-intern will perform tasks related to their specific area of study and the Intern learning Contract. In a highly professional healthcare setting provided by Terros Health; the student will be given an opportunity to apply, and continue to learn by practical application the principals, theory, and knowledge from their related course work.
A Population Health internship focuses on improving health outcomes across specific communities. Interns assist the Population Health Analyst with evaluating patient health metrics to identify actionable trends and examining targeted interventions to optimize patient care quality. The key accomplishment for this role is to have a strong understanding of data analytics and practical application within healthcare quality improvement.
Upon completion of the program, the student will have learned:
  • Use programming tools to identify health trends and disparities in care access.
  • Build clear presentation materials that translate health data into actionable insights for clinical teams.
  • Assess real-world performance of public health interventions and wellness initiatives.
  • Work alongside Population Health Analyst to support population health management strategies.
  • Strict adherence to patient privacy laws when managing confidential

  • Applicants will possess the following attributes: Understanding of social determinants of health (SDOH) and how they impact healthcare accessibility and outcomes. The ability to explain data clearly, both verbally and in written reports. Working knowledge on analyzing large datasets.
  • Applicant must be currently enrolled in a supervised field instruction class
  • Graduate level i.e. Public Health (BS/MPH), Healthcare Administration, Data Analytics, or Family & Human Development.
  • Excellent written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills are highly desired.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Completion of the pre-student/Intern/Practicum onboarding process as determined solely at the discretion of Terros Health, which may include a criminal background check, and a pre-employment drug screen
  • Must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card or apply for an Arizona fingerprint clearance card (Level 1) within 7 working days of assuming role.
