The Summer Associate will work in a flexible hybrid manner (3 days per week in office) and report to Marketing leadership at our Vienna, VA campus. This role will be a member of the Marketing Orchestration & Analytics team - a diverse group of analysts focused on developing marketing use cases & strategies, developing system capabilities & operational efficiencies, and understanding the resulting impact to our members and business objectives. Our group fills the critical role of bridging traditional marketing theory and process with 21st Century marketing technology and practice to provide Member Centric Experience and realize Business Value through the Next Best Interaction marketing program.
The Summer Associate on this team will help lead the development of automation and AI solutions to support Marketing business user needs. This role requires technical expertise to support innovative solution design, and advanced problem-solving to lead the development of technology solutions to fill business needs. They will drive solutions to support Marketing business teams, combining analytical and technical skills with an understanding of the systems and processes that support direct marketing efforts through Pega and Salesforce. Direct outcomes will include targeted automation/AI solutions that drive efficiencies in Marketing.
The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2027 and ending in August 2027. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
Responsibilities
  • Lead collaboration with business users and Marketing leadership, to assess user and program needs and translate into thoughtful solution designs that are aligned with the organization's broader business objectives. Will include requirements definition and refinement.
  • Skillfully translate complex and multifaceted business requirements into technical requirements and specifications and delivering solutions to market.
  • Lead and partner with stakeholders to establish strategies and best practices for utilizing the NFCU Martech stack to deliver on business and member needs while generating efficiencies in operations and processes.
  • Utilize data analytic, automation, and AI tools, methodologies, and languages to address identified business user needs with targeted solutions that enhance Marketing operations, member experience, and business user experience.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing stakeholders to ensure that opportunities identified by business users or from performance data are effectively communicated and translated into actionable strategies or solution designs that address business/member needs.
  • Mentor team members on tools and strategies that will enable them to pursue their own automation/AI enhancements that will ensure
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in technical field, or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience; Master's/advanced Degree or certifications preferred.
  • Experience in technology/technology adjacent roles preferred.
  • Understanding of technical, analytical, mathematical/statistical, and AI/Automation concepts like: navigating Data Lake/Data Warehouse, conceptual understanding of API/ETL, familiarity with predictive analytics/models, and proficiency in agentic solution development.
  • Proficiency in tools and environments such as Azure, SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI, large language model, and m365 suite of applications.
  • Leads collaboratively with advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of solution design across multiple tools and techniques and drives automation concepts
  • Mentor others and effectively influences collaboration across teams.
  • Advanced communication skills, with a proven ability to convey complex/technical concepts to and data-driven insights to diverse stakeholders leveraging verbal, written, and presentation mediums.
