Job description


SAIC is seeking a motivated, career-minded, and tech-savvy Cloud/.Net Junior Developer to join our team to begin an exciting and challenging career with SAIC. Our current system is a .NET application hosted in an Azure cloud-based environment. The ideal candidate should have a keen interest in Azure cloud platform, experience with application frameworks and some experience with Cloud platforms such as Azure. The developer will participate in the system architecture design, systems engineering, development, integration testing and validation, and all aspects of the software life cycle of a web application with backend web services. The candidate will be responsible for developing and testing .NET code as dictated by project requirements.
The right candidate will have learned about cloud development and storage knowledge as well as a proven history of .NET development experience either through a classroom setting with internship experiences and/or through real world work history.
*Note: This position is currently 100% remote. The right candidate must be a US Citizen and should be able to clear a Public Trust background investigation.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as an active member of the software development team in an Agile iterative CI/CD environment.
  • Apply and promote good software engineering practices
  • Utilize full-stack development expertise in .NET web applications including C#, Unit testing, NUnit testing techniques, and deployment actions.
  • Design, build, and develop in a web-based application that utilizes cloud native services and architecture.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with colleagues on various problems and solutions.
  • Document software designs, which may include design diagrams, data flow diagrams, software module descriptions, etc.
  • Resolve application defects in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application meet contractual Service Level Agreement (SLA) standards.
  • Provide development support, as needed, for solutions deployed to production.
  • Use Integrated Development Environment (IDE) tools to include Visual Studio, Azure DevOps and GIT.
  • Comfortable with Windows Operating systems and environments.
  • Implement long-term solutions and building blocks within the agile framework for improved reusability.
  • Participate in regular meetings/ceremonies such as Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Reviews and Demos, Retrospectives, Risk meetings, etc.

Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data analytics, or equivalent/related field.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust that requires US citizenship.
  • Knowledge of system design and development with Microsoft .NET environment tools.
  • Experience with .NET framework and C#, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as bash, python, and PowerShell.
  • Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Postgres
  • Working knowledge of RESTful and SOAP API development
  • Experience with XML and JSON
  • Experience using Integrated Development Environment (IDE) tools to include Visual Studio, Azure DevOps and GIT.
  • Experience with Azure Cloud platform.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML is a plus.
  • Experience with section 508 and accessibility coding approaches a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills.
