The Publix Technology Asset Protection & Vendor Portal team is responsible for developing, delivering and maintaining robust, high-quality solutions to support the Vendor Portal and Asset Protection business areas. The team manages and enhances systems that impact both external partners and internal associates, ensuring smooth business processes and compliance with regulatory standards. As an Intermediate Software Engineer, you will be responsible for providing application development solving complex business challenges and comprehensive support for a wide range of systems under Vendor Portal and Asset Protection area.

Your Impact
  • Write or modify complex programs from technical designs, program specifications and/or product backlog items under less specific guidance.
  • Lead and coordinate technical design for complex technical solutions under less specific guidance.
  • Continuously improving vendor portal systems to enhance supplier experience and streamline purchasing processes. 
  • Define technical scope, estimates, and risks for the business systems analyst, product owner, and/or portfolio manager for development activities.
  • Perform industry research and make recommendations regarding technical enhancements, new features, technology, and infrastructure to continuously improve technical solutions.
  • Provide excellent customer service to our suppliers and internal users by responding to their queries, resolving issues.
  • Provide production support following a rotating on-call schedule; around every 4-5 weeks, and when the need arises.
  • Monitor system health and triage issues. Troubleshoot application software processes, escalating issues to other engineering teams as needed.
  • Work with Azure DevOps pipelines and code repositories to deploy new versions of the Vendor Portal and Asset Protection systems.
  • Execute maintenance tasks on applications and batch jobs running on PPC (Publix Private Cloud) or on-prem servers and run on-demand data load and other jobs.
  • Develop automation solutions, such as scripts, pipelines, and batch jobs to reduce manual or repeatable tasks.
  • Provide KPIs, metrics, status, and reports to management and stakeholders.
  • Provide 24/7 production support following a rotating on-call schedule; approximately every 4-5 weeks, and when the need arises.
  • Work with minimal supervision within a large fast-paced corporate environment.
