Job description

The Mechanical/Piping Designer is an onsite position working for a client in the Shreveport, LA area.
The Mechanical/Piping Designer will execute and review complex engineering design projects, ensuring technical accuracy and constructability. This role requires minimal supervision and involves collaboration with various disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret and analyze general designs provided by engineers.
  • Prepare detailed designs for engineer approval.
  • Create construction drawing packages using company standards and drafting techniques.
  • Ensure technical accuracy and constructability of designs.
  • Develop layouts and estimates from job scope and vendor information.
  • Perform field verifications and P&ID walk-downs.
    Qualifications:
  • Technology training in Drafting and Design from an accredited school required; Associate degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of refinery design experience required; 10-15 years preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience with AutoCAD, CADWorx, and AutoCAD Plant 3D Software required; 10-15 years preferred.
  • Ability to climb ladders, maneuver through pipe racks, and work at heights with a harness.
  • Local candidates preferred; per diem considered for highly qualified non-local candidates.
