About the Role

The Electrical Design Engineer II participates in controls engineering for projects in the material handling industry and others. The roleโ€™s primary focus is electrical design in AutoCAD Electrical. Other tasks include panel checkouts, on-site I/O checks, etc. If you are passionate about controls & automation, self-motivated, and enjoy collaborative environments, this position is for you. This position reports to the Director of Controls Engineering.

In this role, you willโ€ฆ

  • Collaborate with project teams on creating and implementing electrical designs for MHE control systems
  • Develop and complete accurate designs utilizing customer documentation, prior experience, and verbal guidance with minimal oversight
  • Complete pre-commissioning checkouts at the panel shop
  • Support commissioning systems: perform input/output (I/O) checks, configure devices, assist in functional testing and troubleshooting
  • Help create training material and guides
  • Develop an understanding of system hardware capabilities and requirements
  • Travel up to 30% annually
Requirements:

  • A bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical design, controls engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical and electrical design best practices.
  • Experience designing industrial control panels, electrical systems, or custom automation solutions.
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and component selection.
  • Material handling industry experience is beneficial but not required; candidates with strong electrical design experience from other industrial sectors are encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.
