Summary

The Lead Project Manager is responsible for directing large-scale, complex audiovisual integration projects from initiation through closeout. This role provides leadership for project teams, manages schedules, budgets, client relationships, and project profitability, while helping establish best practices, mentor project managers, and support organizational growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams by assigning work, mentoring personnel, and promoting collaboration and accountability.
  • Manage multi-phase projects with responsibility for scope, budget, schedule, quality, and overall project performance.
  • Build and maintain executive-level client relationships while serving as a trusted advisor throughout project delivery.
  • Coordinate with sales, engineering, programming, procurement, and installation teams to ensure project objectives and technical standards are achieved.
  • Monitor project financial performance, including budget management, revenue forecasting, margin tracking, and risk mitigation.
  • Conduct project kickoff meetings, executive progress reviews, and stakeholder communications.
  • Oversee project closeout activities, including as-built documentation, final deliverables, warranty transitions, and lessons learned.
  • Promote client satisfaction through responsive communication, issue resolution, and professional project leadership.
  • Mentor and coach Project Managers and Associate Project Managers.
  • Develop, implement, and reinforce project management best practices, tools, and operational processes.
  • Identify and recommend improvements that increase efficiency, delivery effectiveness, and profitability.
  • Resolve complex project issues, escalations, and client concerns through professional and solution-oriented leadership.
  • Partner closely with sales teams to ensure smooth project transitions and strong client experiences.

  • Represent the project management function during leadership meetings and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of project management experience within A/V integration, construction, or related technology industries.
  • Minimum 8 years of team leadership or management experience.
  • Proven leadership capabilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of A/V systems, including:
    • Signal flow.
    • Enterprise control systems such as Crestron, AMX, Biamp, and Extron.
    • DSP technologies.
    • Large-scale video distribution systems.
    • Audio reinforcement systems.
    • Conferencing platforms.
    • Networking fundamentals.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex projects with budgets exceeding $1 million.
  • Experience developing and maintaining executive-level client relationships.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability management.
  • Proficiency with Wrike Project Management and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience managing AIA projects and associated documentation, including drawings, submittals, change orders, and project schedules.
  • Understanding of construction methods, low-voltage systems, and jobsite safety practices.
  • Experience working with General Contractors on construction and integration projects.
  • Experience using M365 or similar platforms for project documentation and compliance management.
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop project management personnel.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Valid driver's license with ability to travel regularly to project and client sites.
