Office Location: Grand Rapids or Wixom, Michigan

Position Summary:

An Audio/Visual Programmer is responsible for the creation of custom coding for the control of professional control processors, user interfaces and digital signal processors. As part of this process, close consultation with the System Design Engineer, Project Manager, and End User/Client is required. Documentation of system, operation (in the form of a user guide), and the ability to train clients on system use is also required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the creation of custom coding for the control of professional control processors
  • Manage user interfaces and digital signal processors
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Must have attended and passed a control manufacturer’s programming course (Crestron, Extron, AMX, QSC). Crestron is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate a knowledge of DSP set-up (Biamp, QSC, BSS).
  • Must be able to follow a SOW.
  • Must be able to read system drawings.
  • Must have a good understanding of how an AV system operates.
  • Must be able to train clients on installed systems.
  • Must have basic knowledge of networking.
  • Crestron Silver certification preferred.

  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance.
  • Provide daily reports on assigned work progress.
  • Be able to travel and visit client sites when loading and testing programs.
  • Be able to remotely assist other team members in diagnosing system issues.
  • Be able to climb ladders.
  • Maintain a friendly demeanor in all circumstances.
  • Have the knowledge to assist engineering by providing feedback to improve system designs.
  • Punctuality when arriving at an assigned location and completing tasks.
