Internship Overview

The Accounting/Tax Intern will support the finance team with a primary focus on Form 5500 tax reporting and compliance activities. This internship provides hands-on experience working with clients, conducting research, preparing documentation, and assisting in the execution of the 5500-filing process

Internship Details
  • Location - On-Site, Sioux Falls, SD (no hybrid or remote option)
  • Monday-Friday, no nights or weekends
  • Non-Exempt/Hourly - Full Time
  • Fall/Winter - September 2026 through December 2026
  • Winter/Spring - January 2027 through May 2027
Responsibilities & Duties
  • Assist with the preparation and execution of Form 5500 filings and related compliance tasks.

  • Work directly with clients to gather required information and supporting documentation.

  • Research Form 5500 requirements, deadlines, and filing considerations as needed.

  • Organize, review, and verify data for accuracy and completeness before submission.

  • Support the team in tracking filing progress and maintaining compliance records.

  • Assist with data entry, document management, and administrative support related to tax and accounting functions.

  • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and assist with internal audits.

  • Other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
