Job description

Job Title: Math Teacher

Department: Academics

Reports To: Academic Dean and Math Department Chair

FLSA Status: Exempt

Employment Status: Full-Time, Academic Year

Position Summary

Fork Union Military Academy seeks a full-time Math Teacher to serve students in grades 7-12 and postgraduate level as assigned. This position is responsible for delivering clear, structured mathematics instruction in a college-preparatory environment. The Math Teacher will adhere to the mission of the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned math courses in grades 7-12 and postgraduate level as needed.
  • Prepare lesson plans, tests, quizzes, and instructional materials.
  • Grade assignments and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Maintain strong classroom standards and support student growth.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, department meetings, and school activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
  • Strong content knowledge in secondary mathematics.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with adolescent boys in a structured environment.
  • Will adhere to the mission of the school.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior classroom teaching experience.
  • Virginia teaching license strongly preferred.
  • Master's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field preferred.
