Job description

ABOUT FIREFLY AEROSPACE

SUMMARY

Interns will support the Blue Ghost Assembly, Integration, and Test team through a variety of activities, including: mechanical integration of spacecraft and test units, development of integration work instructions, development and execution of functional test procedures, and assistance with environmental testing of flight hardware.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop mechanical integration work instructions for the assembly of the Blue Ghost Lunar Lander and associated test builds
  • Work with manufacturing engineers and technicians to execute mechanical integration work instructions in the Blue Ghost cleanroom
  • Develop functional and environmental test plans and procedures to test flight hardware after mechanical integration
  • Support environmental testing of flight hardware at off-site locations

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Must be currently enrolled in either a BS or MS program (or a recent graduate) at an accredited four-year university or college.
  • Willing to work in a hands-on, constantly evolving environment
  • Detail-oriented, managing multiple priorities while maintaining focus on a common goal

Desired:

Candidates should preferably have a focus in one of the following areas

  • Mechanical engineering with a focus on spacecraft structural design
  • Electrical engineering with experience in integrating and testing electrical components
  • Software engineering with experience developing test scripts in Python

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
