Summary of Role:
GlobalFoundries (Fab 9) in Essex Junction, Vermont, is seeking a motivated Metrology Process Engineer to support process development and manufacturing for advanced semiconductor technologies. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize metrology processes, improve manufacturing performance, and enable high-volume production.
Essential Responsibilities include:
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, integration, and manufacturing teams to support development and production of metrology processes
  • Design, execute, and analyze experiments (DOE) to optimize process performance, yield, and reliability
  • Develop and maintain metrology recipes and models to enable accurate measurement and process control
  • Support process integration and manufacturing teams by troubleshooting process and equipment issues
  • Work with equipment suppliers to define requirements and evaluate new metrology tools and technologies
  • Monitor and improve process stability using SPC, CPK analysis, and data-driven methodologies
  • Participate in tool setup, qualification, and matching activities
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield, cost, and throughput enhancements

Other Responsibilities:
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHSS) programs

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics, Chemical Engineering, or related engineering / physical science or data science discipline
  • Demonstrated understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and global teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Must be graduating in 2027 with at least a 3.0 GPA and in good academic standing

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in semiconductor or manufacturing environments
  • Experience or familiarity with AFM (Atomic Force Microscopy) tools and processes
