SEO Specialist – Entry Level Position Summary We are seeking an entry-level SEO Specialist to support our organic and local search programs. This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, technically curious, and interested in building a career in SEO and digital marketing. The SEO Specialist will help improve search visibility across our website and local store presence by conducting SEO audits, optimizing on-page elements, maintaining local business listings, monitoring performance, and partnering with technical teams to identify and resolve issues that impact organic search. This role does not require deep development expertise, but the ideal candidate will be comfortable investigating technical issues, understanding basic HTML and JavaScript concepts, and working with developers and other technical partners to implement solutions. Key Responsibilities: Local Search & Listings - Support local SEO strategy for store and location pages across major search and mapping platforms. - Maintain accurate and consistent business information, including store names, addresses, phone numbers, hours, URLs, categories, and other location attributes. - Manage and optimize listings through Uberall, Google Business Profile (Google My Business), Apple Maps, and Yelp. - Identify duplicate, inaccurate, or incomplete listings and coordinate corrections. - Monitor local search visibility and identify opportunities to improve store discoverability. - Partner with internal teams to ensure store openings, closures, relocations, and changes are reflected accurately across search platforms. On-Page SEO - Audit and update SEO elements including: - H1 headings - Title tags - Meta descriptions - Canonical tags - Internal linking - Indexation signals - Page content and basic structured data - Identify missing, duplicate, or poorly optimized metadata and recommend updates. - Conduct ongoing audits to ensure SEO best practices are consistently implemented across the site. - Support optimization of category, product, content, and location pages. Technical SEO - Use crawling and auditing tools such as Screaming Frog and JetOctopus to identify technical SEO issues. - Investigate issues related to crawling, indexing, redirects, broken links, duplicate content, canonicalization, JavaScript rendering, site architecture, and page discoverability. - Document technical SEO issues and translate findings into clear requirements for development and technical teams. - Create and manage SEO-related tickets in Jira, including issue descriptions, business impact, requirements, and validation criteria. - Partner with developers and technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve search-related issues. - Perform QA after releases to confirm SEO requirements were implemented correctly. Analytics & Reporting - Use Google Analytics and other SEO reporting tools to monitor organic traffic, landing-page performance, engagement, and trends. - Help investigate changes in organic search performance and identify potential causes. - Track SEO improvements and provide reporting on completed optimizations and their impact. - Support recurring SEO audits, reporting, and competitive analysis. Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work with e-commerce, marketing, content, product, store operations, and technology teams to support SEO initiatives. - Communicate SEO recommendations in clear language that both technical and non-technical partners can understand. - Coordinate with teams working in Salesforce and related digital platforms to implement and validate SEO updates. - Stay current on changes to search engines, local search platforms, and SEO best practices. Tools & Platforms - Experience with all tools is not required. Candidates should have experience with or an interest in learning: - Salesforce - JavaScript and basic HTML - Google Analytics - Jira - Screaming Frog - JetOctopus - Uberall - Google Business Profile / Google My Business - Apple Maps - Yelp Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, information systems, analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - 0–2 years of experience in SEO, digital marketing, e-commerce, web analytics, or a related area, including internships or relevant coursework. - Basic understanding of SEO principles, including on-page, technical, and local SEO. - Familiarity with title tags, meta descriptions, H1s, internal linking, redirects, canonical tags, and search engine crawling/indexing concepts. - Basic understanding of HTML and JavaScript and how website technology can affect search engines. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - High attention to detail and ability to identify patterns and inconsistencies. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Comfortable working with spreadsheets, analytics, and large sets of URLs or website data. - Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications - Internship, coursework, certification, or hands-on experience related to SEO or digital marketing. - Experience crawling or auditing websites using Screaming Frog, JetOctopus, or similar tools. - Familiarity with Google Business Profile and local listing management. - Exposure to Salesforce or enterprise e-commerce platforms. - Experience working with Jira or another project-management/ticketing platform. - Familiarity with JavaScript SEO, structured data, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, and website indexing concepts. - Interest in retail, e-commerce, and omnichannel customer experiences. What Success Looks Like In this role, success means maintaining accurate and optimized local search listings, proactively identifying SEO opportunities and technical issues, translating findings into actionable recommendations, and building strong partnerships with technical and business teams. Over time, this person will develop the skills to independently manage SEO audits, diagnose search performance issues, and contribute to broader organic search strategy.

Pay and Benefits
