Seasonal Night Driver Technician

Clarke of Roselle, IL is seeking to hire a highly motivated and hard-working Night Driver Technician to help control populations of adult mosquitoes by safely applying an Ultra-Low Volume mosquito product from our company vehicle by an attached spray unit. This position is perfect for someone who is passionate about public health, sustainability, and is looking for a flexible, third shift position. WORK SCHEDULE AND SALARY

This position earns a competitive wage of $17/hr. and generally works a 7PM to ~2-5AM shift Monday-Friday (end time may vary and weekends may be required based on business needs). The Night Truck Technician works a 40+ hour work week and supports the summer season operations (generally May – October).

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A NIGHT DRIVER TECHNICIAN

As a Night Driver Technician, you are responsible for the safe and thorough application of mosquito control products throughout contracted accounts to help reduce adult mosquito populations. This position allows you to be out of an office and drive the local community during the calmest times of the night. You will abide by all traffic laws as you navigate treatment routes by map overlays on an issued cellphone. You have excellent attention to detail as you complete and document treatments accurately, safely, and in a timely manner meeting the needs of our customers.

When you are not servicing customer accounts, you are performing inspections and maintenance on your equipment, attending training, or helping in other aspects of your field.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A NIGHT DRIVER TECHNICIAN

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Possess a high school degree or equivalent with high school level math skills
  • Communicate effectively in English in both written and verbal forms
  • Have a valid Driver's License with an excellent driving record
  • Ability to sit and drive a vehicle for extended periods of time
  • Required to pass the Illinois Department of Agriculture General Standards Exam (training provided)
  • Basic knowledge and use of Smartphones, applications, and Google Maps is required
  • Able to operate a vehicle at night while navigating a map through various residential communities, urban environments, and traffic patterns amidst factors such as weather, pedestrians, other vehicles, etc.
