Job description

Position Summary

New London Public Schools offers internship and student teaching opportunities across a variety of educational and professional disciplines. Internship experiences are designed to provide meaningful, hands-on learning that complements academic coursework while supporting the district's mission to serve students and families. Interns are paired with experienced professionals in their field to develop practical skills, apply classroom knowledge, and gain experience in a public school setting.


Internship Highlights

  • Gain supervised, hands-on experience alongside experienced educators and district professionals.

  • Apply academic knowledge in a real-world school setting while supporting students, staff, and district  Complete required field experience, practicum, internship, clinical placement, or student teaching requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or certification program requiring an internship, practicum, clinical experience, field placement, or student teaching for program completion.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to successfully completing all internship requirements, including maintaining consistent attendance, professionalism, and active participation throughout the placement.

  • Meet all academic program and district onboarding requirements prior to placement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong communication, collaboration, professionalism, and a commitment to serving diverse student populations.

These requests are reviewed independently and are not processed as student internships.
