Job description

Amazon Braket is evolving to support fault-tolerant quantum computing. We need a Senior SDE who can build high-performance systems infrastructure for quantum workloads - the kind of engineer who thinks about latency budgets, resource lifecycle, and how to make hardware accessible through clean software abstractions.
If you have a background in device drivers, OS kernels, embedded systems, or low-latency distributed infrastructure, and you want to apply that expertise to a fundamentally new kind of computing device, this role is for you.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement interfaces that connect Braket's infrastructure to quantum hardware with minimal overhead
- Build session management, memory management, and execution control systems for quantum device interactions
- Optimize the critical path between customer workloads and quantum processors for minimal latency and maximum throughput
- Collaborate with the existing Workload Execution team on shared runtime infrastructure (brokers, scheduling, resource management)
- Work within Braket's established code review and operational readiness processes when contributing to shared production systems
- Work with quantum hardware providers to define and evolve integration specifications
- Contribute to the architectural evolution of Braket's execution stack for fault-tolerant workloads
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience designing protocol-level interfaces (gRPC, custom binary protocols, or similar)
